The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is the best place to stay on Big Island of Hawaii golf vacations

Today’s tip explains how to get a deep discount at the best place to stay on Big Island of Hawaii golf vacations.

You’re probably already aware that the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is the primo place to stay on the Big Island. In fact, it reportedly enjoys the highest occupancy rate of any Four Seasons hotel in the world. Its 243 rooms and suites start at $725 per night.

But, if you’re traveling with a group of friends and/or family on a Hawaii golf vacation, you’ll be interested to know that you can stay in elegant homes and villas within the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai development, and the cost works out to be much less (assuming you’re sharing it).

The Four Seasons may have some properties in its rental pool, but you’ll get even better prices by dealing with the owners directly.

As part of their research on Big Island of Hawaii golf vacations, the editors of Golf Odyssey found nearly a dozen listings on the worldwide property rental site, Vacation Rentals by Owner (vrbo.com) offering three-bedroom villas at Hualalai starting at $950 per night. And here’s the kicker: the homes and villas include complete access to the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai’s facilities and amenities (pools, spa, fitness center, tennis, nature trails, climbing wall, etc.) and in most cases, at least one golf cart for transportation. Whee!

By the way, despite being one of the larger and most popular properties in the chain, Golf Odyssey’s editors say that the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai still manages to exude a sense of intimacy, seclusion, and it never feels packed or cramped. In fact, they gave it their highest grade of A+, a rating that these demanding critics rarely bestow on the golf courses, resorts, and restaurants they review.

“Notwithstanding its steep prices, the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai met or exceeded our lofty expectations at every turn, including dining,” they said. “We could have easily stayed on property for the entire duration of our Big Island of Hawaii golf vacation.”

you’re correct. i stayed in one of the 3 bedroom villas right on the 18th fairway of the nicklaus course. beautifully decorated with all the amenities one would ever need. head for head, it was considerably less expensive than the hotel. access is easy to everything. the resort is amazing, one of the best hospitality experiences i have ever had. the main course is good; the weiskopf track better still if you can get on it. even got a round in at nanea (sp?) the mega-private course up the hill – thanks to the generosity of a friend.

My husband and I were lucky enough to do an all inclusive golf package at Moon Palace in Cancun…. it was a beautiful course and the staff were incredibly helpful. Making sure we were never out of food or beverages. The wild life was amazing as well. We got the opportunity to see two wild boar on the 17 tee box. A day that we have not forgotten and wish to re-do again soon. A definite must play.
