The 17th hole is often the highlight of rounds at TPC Sawgrass and Florida golf vacations.

Unlike some of the private TPC golf courses played on tour, anyone can play the Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass…and we just love that.

Many of you must love it, too, because, for the last few years on the Monday after the Players Championship, and for weeks thereafter, we are flooded with questions about playing at TPC Sawgrass.

In light of his Bay Hill Invitational tournament this past weekend, today I’m going to explain how you can meet Arnold Palmer himself.

I’m not talking about merely “seeing” him amidst a crowd — I’m talking about shaking the man’s hand, chatting with him, and maybe even having your picture taken with him.

Some of you are going to shrug this off as a come-on.

But those of you who keep reading will be rewarded, as you’re going to find out the surprisingly easy way that anyone can meet The King.

So, read on if you’re interested in a golf experience you’ll remember for the rest of your life. Read more →

Doral Golf Resort & Spa has come a long way, but it may still have a ways to go.

As I watched this past weekend’s World Golf Championships event at Miami’s Doral Golf Resort & Spa, I couldn’t help remembering something I read in Golf Odyssey.

Specifically, Doral was named in Golf Odyssey’s annual Best and Worst Awards…but it wasn’t for being “the best,” if you know what I mean. Read more →

This is the time of year when things wind down for PGA Tour players.

For those trying to earn a spot on the PGA Tour, however, it’s probably the most intense time of their lives.

This intensity is due to the PGA Tour National Qualifying Tournament, or Q-School, the three-stage, weeding-out process that culminates on December 6.

The venue for the finals of this pressure cooker has been moving around in recent years, and this year it’s being played on a couple courses you’ve probably played – or will likely have the chance to play – very soon.  Read more →

While the 17th hole of TPC Sawgrass' Players Stadium Course is the most recognizable, its 11th hole is a beauty, too.

The PGA Tour is playing the “fifth major” at TPC Sawgrass this week.

Here’s why you should consider playing it this year.

Number one, if you’ve not yet played the Players Stadium Course there, or haven’t been back since its major renovations, you’re in for some very pleasant surprises.

And, to stir interest in TPC Sawgrass during the sluggish economy, the club’s marketing department has been very busy devising specials and bargain packages.

In February last year, for instance, we took advantage of one of the most amazing deals we have ever seen. Read more →

Keep the three tips below in mind and your golf vacation at PGA National Resort & Spa can be a great one.

If you watched the PGA Tour’s Honda Classic over the weekend, you saw an impressive, wire-to-wire win by Camilo Villegas.

Likewise, you got an eyeful of the picturesque Palm Beach, Fla., venue where he performed it: PGA National Resort & Spa.

Here is what you didn’t see, however, and if you ever select PGA National Resort & Spa for a golf vacation, these things could make or break your trip.  Read more →

Doral Golf Resort's new course is finished, but other important areas are not.

Doral Golf Resort's new course is finished, but other important areas are not.

You’ve probably been hearing a lot about the “complete” renovation of Miami’s Doral Golf Resort, but there’s something you should know before booking your Florida golf vacations there.

Let me first say, without question, there is a lot to be excited about, including the Jim McLean Signature Course, which replaces the forgettable Silver Course.

But there’s one thing you need to know — information the resort’s reservation agents don’t volunteer — that could make or break your trip there, or to any “renovated” resort.  Read more →

A new course to play on Florida golf vacations: the Jim McLean Signature Course at Doral Golf Resort (hole 13).

Miami, Florida’s Doral Golf Resort must think its “new” course is so nice,  they had to open it twice.

The Jim McLean Signature Course, which is a complete overhaul of what was the forgettable Silver Course, opened back in June.  But that didn’t stop Doral from having a “grand opening” two weeks ago.  Read more →
