Keep the three tips below in mind and your golf vacation at PGA National Resort & Spa can be a great one.

If you watched the PGA Tour’s Honda Classic over the weekend, you saw an impressive, wire-to-wire win by Camilo Villegas.

Likewise, you got an eyeful of the picturesque Palm Beach, Fla., venue where he performed it: PGA National Resort & Spa.

You can play TPC Las Colinas and stay at the Four Seasons Resort Dallas at Las Colinas as part of this discount golf vacation deal.

One side benefit of the recession has been the emergence of some of the best discount golf vacation deals I have ever seen at luxury golf vacation destinations.

I was just reading the February issue of Golf Odyssey and frankly, I could not believe the special deal they uncovered at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas.  Read more →

Is this the new "must play" course on Cabo San Lucas golf vacations?

Do you remember hearing about a lawsuit filed this past summer by a couple dozen National Hockey League players against a guy who supposedly took their $25 million and didn’t build the Cabo San Lucas, Mexico golf course he promised?

Well, the course is built, it’s open for play, and it has been generating some considerable buzz (for the right reasons this time).

You’ll see why when you take a look at these amazing photos, one of which shows stone-sided “hitting caves” on what may be the coolest practice range you’ve ever seen.

Golf Odyssey is the unique, impressive, and affordable gift choice.

Right now, you’re probably thinking that today’s tip isn’t a tip at all, but a self-serving promotional message.

You know what? You’re right.

Well, you’re partly right.

Yes, part of my job is to raise awareness about our premium, newsletter, Golf Odyssey.

But to be perfectly honest, here’s why I would recommend it as a great holiday gift even if I didn’t work closely with its editors.  Read more →

Golf Odyssey's year-long research of golf vacations (in 20 U.S. states and 10 countries) culminates in this coveted, year-end issue. Get a free copy below.

You are about to read one of the most useful tips I’ll publish all year.

That’s because it explains how you can get a free copy of Golf Odyssey’s annual, year-end issue containing its provocative (and sometimes scathing) “Best and Worst Awards,” and its coveted list of “Platinum Places: The World’s Best Golf Destinations for 2009-2010.”

Both are based on Golf Odyssey’s year-long travels and undercover inspections of top golf courses, resorts, and restaurants in 20 different states in the USA and 10 different countries around the world.

Two categories I thought you might be particularly interested in are:

“The Best New Golf Resort,” and “The Best New Golf Course,” the latter being called “arguably the most important golf course to open anywhere in the world in 2009.”

And the winners are:   Read more →

We don't directly book or arrange golf vacations, but we can recommend golf packagers, travel agents, and tour operators that do.

Today, I want to clear up something that many of you may be confused about.

We don’t directly arrange or book golf vacations.

Yes, we know the best places to play and stay worldwide (and tips on traveling to them), thanks to the editors of Golf Odyssey.

Yes, we get requests all the time to make golf vacation arrangements and bookings.

And, yes, it would be an easy source of revenue for us.

But no, we don’t do it.

It sounds crazy, I know.  Maybe it is crazy. Read on and you tell me.  Read more →
