Many private golf courses are opening their gates to non-member play.
Want to play private golf courses on your next golf vacation?
Your chances of getting inside the gates at private golf courses across America — even the famous ones — has increased dramatically, so much so that you can almost factor them in to your golf vacation plans.
As the editors of Golf Odyssey wrote in the March 2009 issue:
“We are about to witness a dramatic shift in the ability of non-members to play golf at private golf courses in America. And this phenomenon will include many of the most exclusive and highly-rated venues — the very courses you regularly see on TV on Sunday; that fill “top-100″ lists; even private golf courses that have even hosted major championships.”
Not only will it often be unnecessary to play with a member of these private golf courses, in many cases, you won’t even need to know one.
Those of you who are members of private golf courses will recognize my article’s explanation for why this is taking place and which courses are likely to be most receptive to non-member play.
Of course, there’s a right way and a wrong way to go about playing private golf courses while on golf vacations, and my article also explains how to increase your chances of success and how much you can expect to pay at top venues.

Ron, there is a site out there in New England that places golfers on some of New Englands best private courses, although the site doesnt name the specific courses either. It’s http://www.CountryClubConnect.com
Thank you kindly Todd. I’m trying to play the top 100 golf courses in the world and as you know a good majority of them are private here in the states. I appreciate all information and help.

Hi Jason. Search our site for “Boston.” We’ve written about some excellent daily fee courses in and around the city.
