Put Angus Glen on your Toronto, Ontario golf vacation "must play" list.

When the PGA Tour tees off tomorrow to start the Canadian Open, it will be on one of the best courses you can play on a Toronto, Ontario golf vacation.
Angus Glen Golf Club was designed by Doug Carrick and Jay Morrish in 1994, and the glistening fairways of this former cattle farm offer a rich golfing experience just 20 minutes from downtown Toronto.
The variety is outstanding; some holes incorporate elevation changes, others run through a valley, and still others play through links-style open fields. Last year, Davis Love III did some fairway and bunker renovations to ensure the course holds up to the PGA Tour test (as it did in 2002 when it last hosted the event).
Another outstanding course to play on your Toronto, Ontario golf vacation is located just west of the city in Oakville. The Glen Abbey Golf Club, which has hosted the Canadian Open 23 times, was Jack Nicklaus' first solo design and is a forerunner to stadium golf.

viewing, enormous sand traps, thick rough, slick, undulating greens, and water hazards on 11 holes toughen up this 7,112-yard course.
When Golf Odyssey last played the course, the openness of the early holes did not inspire us, but Glen Abbey's personality changes when you reach the dramatic valley holes on the back nine.
The tee shot on the par-four 11th hole descends more than 100 feet, leaving an approach over a picturesque creek to a narrow green. And the 18th, a reachable par five over water, provides a thrilling, go-for-broke finish.
If you're looking for a Toronto, Ontario golf vacation that involves testing your game on PGA Tour-quality layouts, these are two of the best golf courses on which to do it.
