It used to seem like Casa de Campo in La Romana was the only game in town for those interested in a Dominican Republic golf vacation. That's no longer the case. While Casa de Campo still lays claim to having the single best collection of golf courses, Punta Cana, the island's easternmost tip long known for its all-inclusive resorts, is gaining on it like Tiger Woods on a Sunday. The area actually has superior beaches and it's courses are the works of Jack Nicklaus, P.B. Dye, Tom Fazio, and Nick Faldo. Combined with an easy-access airport served by several international hubs, this area may not only become the place to take a Dominican Republic golf vacation, but a Caribbean golf vacation in general. |
