The PGA Tour is playing the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am this week, and if you watch the action on TV (Thursday and Friday on the Golf Channel; Saturday and Sunday on CBS), you can pick up some valuable tips for playing the Pebble Beach Golf Course on your Pebble Beach golf vacation.
For example, if the broadcasters include any early morning coverage, youre likely to see the surrounding landscape swathed in fog, a regular occurrence for the area. So, if youre planning a first-time visit to the Pebble Beach Golf Course, you may want to play in the afternoon when the awe-inspiring views are likely to be clearer.
If youve played the Pebble Beach Golf Course before, however, we suggest playing early in the day to avoid the inevitable afternoon backup. Youll also experience markedly better course conditions.
Pay close attention to the green complexes, too. Pebble Beach Golf Course features some of the smallest and most strategically bunkered greens you are likely to ever play. In fact, the fourth hole features the smallest green on the PGA Tour. So, if you want to remember your Pebble Beach golf vacation for shooting a respectable score, first hone your sand game at the courses practice area, or, even better, before you arrive.
