Pebble Beach GL is the prize of the peninsula.

Weve all heard the arguments that Spyglass Hill and/or The Links at Spanish Bay are better than Pebble Beach Golf Course. True, its Monterey mates may be architecturally more correct, and offer greater hole-to-hole consistency, but what makes a golf course great isnt just its angles, its its experience. For that, there is none more powerful on the Peninsula than Pebble.
Pushing tee into turf here provides an instant connection to a storied past that includes U.S. Amateurs, U.S. Opens, The Crosby Clambake, Palmers Tree, and dozens of other happenings etched into golfs legend and lore. Heck, Pebble Beach Golf Course was played for nearly 50 years before Spyglass was even planted (and nearly 70 years before Spanish Bay). If you want a true sense of where it all started Pebble Beach Golf Course is the place to play.
Thats not to say that the design of this Pebble Beach golf course isnt anything less than spectacular, too. In fact, every hole has a special stimulant that puts the central nervous system on full alert, whether its a strategic option, a heart-pounding challenge, or a majestic, cliff-top view of the Pacific Ocean. Bottom line: this is one course that lives up to its hype and is the best overall experience on a Pebble Beach golf vacation.
