| Cancún golf courses used to take a back seat to sloppy, spring breakers and bohemian beach seekers. Not any more. New resorts and their Mayan Riviera / Cancún golf courses, which include new or soon-to-open designs from Fazio, Nicklaus, Norman, and Dye, have elevated this easily-accessible and easy-to-get-around part of Mexico to legitimate golf destination status. Even the PGA Tour has taken notice; it began holding its first-ever south-of-the-border event at the Fairmont Resort's El Camaleon course in 2007. |
