Consider CopperWynd if We-Ko-Pa is part of your plans.

We-Ko-Pa Golf Club got our attention when its fantastic first course, Cholla, opened in 2001. Now, with its new 18-hole, Bill Coore/Ben Crenshaw-designed Saguaro course scheduled to open tomorrow, its a must visit on an Arizona golf vacation
.
In fact, you can now easily justify choosing a hotel to be closer to this one-two punch in Fort McDowell than in Scottsdale proper, about a half hour away. If you do, consider the CopperWynd Resort and Club in Fountain Hills.
Sitting atop a mountain ridge, we found this seven-year-old, 32-room resort far more intimate than even Scottsdales Four Seasons. The rooms include one king or two double beds, fine Italian linens, a fireplace, handcrafted furniture, a luxuriously spacious bathroom with stand-alone shower, and a balcony overlooking the Fountain Hills Valley. Resort amenities include a full-service tennis club, two pools, a large workout room, a spa, and fine dining in the Alchemy Restaurant.
The gracious, attentive personal service and breathtaking views immediately won us over. And if that isnt enough, the resort has a special arrangement with We-Ko-Pa that gives guests preferred tee times and complimentary transportation to and from the course.
