One of the ultra-comfy casitas at Royal Palms Resort and Spa.

Located on East Camelback Road in Scottsdale, the Royal Palms Resort and Spa seems more like an estate than a resort hotel.
The property was, in fact, the private estate of the famous travel guide Thomas Cook, and after a wonderful renovation, the Royal Palms retains an aura of exclusivity and has established itself as the most romantic place to stay on an Arizona golf vacation.
A Spanish/Mediterranean architectural motif prevails throughout the property, which is also home to the outstanding T. Cooks restaurant, one of the best in the greater Phoenix area.
Guests stay in either the two-story main building (the renovation included a major soundproofing) or, more preferably, Casita rooms that offer much more seclusion.
The casitas are appointed with king-size canopy beds, fireplaces, handmade furniture, fine fabrics and French doors that open onto a semi-private garden terrace.
There are also 16 Deluxe Casitas, individually decorated by talented designers in various themes and featuring bathrooms with separate bathtubs and showers, but we prefer the standard casitas given their proximity to the inviting pool area and world-class Alvadora Spa.
If leaving your room for a spa treatment is just too much trouble, you can simply phone the concierge who, among other things, will happily arrange an in-room, fireside massage.
