If you have ever considered a Lake Tahoe golf vacation, now might be the time to take it.
Over the weekend, the San Francisco Chronicle ran an article online entitled, “Prices Discounted at Lake Tahoe Golf Courses,” and it included a few good money-saving tidbits.
You can find the full article here, but below are the items that I found most interesting.
First, the Tahoe Mountain Club, consisting of the Jack Nicklaus-designed Old Greenwood course and the Coyote Moon course, has introduced a “Tahoe Foursome Card.” The card costs $250, but it entitles an entire foursome to as much as 40 percent discounts off the regular green fees at these courses all season.
In peak season, for example, each person will save $50 at Old Greenwood alone, so the card can pay for itself if your group plays these Lake Tahoe golf courses more than once on a golf vacation.
The other nugget you might like to know is that Timilick Tahoe, a new private course designed by Johnny Miller and John Harbottle, is allowing public, daily-fee play for $95 (twilight) to $145 (peak) and you can reserve tee times now for a Lake Tahoe golf vacation any time this season. Members of the Northern California Golf Association pay a peak fee of $125.
(By the way, we’ve mentioned before how you can join the NCGA for $25 and get meaningful discounts at a bunch of great courses, including Pebble Beach Golf Links, so it might make even more sense to do it now if you’re planning a Lake Tahoe golf vacation.)
Other Lake Tahoe golf courses mentioned in the article are Edgewood Tahoe (site of the annual American Century Celebrity Golf Championship), Whitehawk Ranch, Genoa Lakes and Plumas Pines, the latter three often playable for less than $100.

Couldn’t agree more, Jim. Just saw one of the periodic offers for Pebble Beach / Splyglass / Spanish Bay today as a matter of fact!
Everyone who plans to play golf in the Monterey area should join the NCGA. The periodic discounts at Pebble Beach, Spyglass and Spanish bay will pay for it in one round. If you want a discount all the time at these courses join the Del Monte Dukes. The discount to Poppy Hills is always avaiable and pays for itself too. In addition the have discounted rates at Bayonet/Blackhorse and several other courses in the area. I live in AZ but get to CA a few times a year. It is great savings.
The website is brilliant. I was shown and told about you in meditation/dream state and then searched for you online. I have been doing the rainbow healing on myself since and love it. I extend much gratitude to you for receiving and spreading this gift.” Terrence callaway x
