If you’re thinking about taking an American Club Kohler golf vacation, do yourself a favor and check out one of its many package deals.
Two things are particularly impressive about them. While you wouldn’t mistake them for discount golf vacations, they’ll truly save you a significant amount of money rather than purchasing everything separately. Someone needs to remind other resorts that this is the main idea behind a “package.”
Second, the people manning the American Club Kohler’s central reservations line can speak intelligently about what exactly is, and is not, included. Nothing gets our goat like representatives who don’t have a clue about what offers or promotions their company is running (is it too much to ask to read the Website?) and this is not an issue with Kohler.
In our opinion, the best American Club Kohler golf vacation package for first time visitors is the “To Dye Four” because, in addition to three nights at the posh American Club, it includes a round of golf at all four of Kohler’s courses: the Straits and Irish courses at Whistling Straits and the River and Meadow Valleys courses at Blackwolf Run.
The standard room version of this package costs about $1,400 per person in high season (June through September) and includes cart/caddie fees, free replays on the Irish and Meadow Valleys courses, a 30-minute, videotaped golf lesson, hour-long weekday evening golf clinics, and spa discounts. If purchased separately, the same room and golf fees alone (without replays) would run about $2,000.
