Pebble Beach GL starts slowly, but builds quickly.

If you’re a golfer dreaming of — or better yet, planning — a Pebble Beach golf vacation, you are justified to be filled with unbridled excitement and anticipation. It is everything you’ve heard about and more.

In fact, many golfers show up an hour earlier than their tee times at the Pebble Beach Golf Course to watch prior groups tee off, creating one of the most crowded first-tee areas this side of Bethpage Black.

What most people don’t know, however, is that Pebble Beach Golf Course actually gets off to a very slow, almost anticlimactic, start. That’s because the first hole is among the course’s weakest. It’s just a simple, short, dogleg right between two sets of hotel buildings. It doesn’t even require a driver.

Truth be told, Pebble Beach Golf Course doesn’t really hit its stride until the fourth hole, but when it does, you’ll quickly see that all the hype is justified.
