Choosing the Right Resort Lodging for Your Pebble Beach Golf Vacation

The Inn at Spanish Bay is just one lodging option when you

Many people don’t realize that Pebble Beach Golf Links is just one part of a multi-property complex called Pebble Beach Resorts. In addition to three-and-a-half other golf courses, PBR is also composed of three, separate hotels, and deciding where to stay depends on the type of experience you’re looking for on your Pebble Beach Golf Vacation.

The Lodge at Pebble Beach, for example, is the hub of the resort and is always abuzz. Pebble Beach Golf Links and a shopping arcade are located right outside its doors, and at night, many visitors congregate at its Tap Room bar/restaurant, regaling one another with stories from the links over a fabulous selection of beer, wine, Scotch and Pebble Beach memorabilia.

Of all the lodging options available, the Lodge’s dormitory look makes it the least appealing from the outside, but inside, the rooms are wonderful. All are large and elegant, with marble dressing areas, separate showers and oversized tubs, and fireplaces.

The Inn at Spanish Bay has a more secluded, resort-like ambiance and is probably the best choice if you have non-golfers in your Pebble Beach golf vacation party. It’s a ten-minute drive to the Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill golf courses, though it’s an easy walk to the Links at Spanish Bay.

The rooms feature lovely blond woods, gas fireplaces, and terraces overlooking the ocean or the forest. The only negatives, from our perspective, are the heavy corporate traffic and the Inn’s spread-out arrangement, making for long walks to and from your room.

If you’re looking for the utmost in luxury, intimacy and privacy on your Pebble Beach golf vacation, Casa Palmero should be your choice. This boutique resort option occupies a two-story villa near the Lodge. Each spacious suite has its own private patio, outdoor Jacuzzi, fireplace and wet bar. Common areas include a library, billiards room, grand living room and swimming pool. Complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres are served nightly.

With rooms starting at $745 per night, Casa Palmero isn’t cheap, but then, getting away from it all on a golf vacation rarely is.
