The newly opened Inn (rendering by HHA Architecture) is a welcome addition to the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.

If the greatest challenge about taking a Bandon Dunes golf vacation is getting to this remote, Oregon outpost, the second greatest has to be securing a room there, particularly during the May-through-October high season. Happily, we have good news to report on that front.

On August 1, The Inn at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort opened, adding 39 more rooms to what was an inventory of just 225 at this soon-to-be four-course property.

Situated just a stone’s throw from the Main Lodge, the two-story Inn features 500 square-foot double rooms on the first floor, and 340 square-foot single rooms on the second floor. The upstairs rooms closely resemble the single rooms in the Main Lodge, but with the advantage of king-size beds rather than queens.

The Inn at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort — not to be confused with the worthwhile, but off-site and independent, A Bandon Inn (abandoninn.com) — also has its own lobby, front desk, business center, and common lounge area, and a selection of beers and wines will be served in the afternoon and early evening hours.

If you’re thinking about staying at The Inn at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, be advised that you can request a golf course view (of the resort’s original Bandon Dunes Golf Course), or a forest view (out toward Bandon Trails Golf Course). Nightly room-only rates at the Inn are $220 to $250 for the upstairs singles and $280 to $320 for the downstairs doubles.

I just returned from Bandon Dunes and stayed at the Inn. I had an upstairs golf course view room. Looked out to the north, over a ravine to the 18th green, putting green and the Lodge/main Dining Room. Very nicely appointed room that was quite large. Three or four minute walk to the Bandon Dunes clubhouse/dining/shops.
