Golf vacations at Fairmont's Canadian properties can include free, chauffeured rides in BMWs.
How would you like a new BMW, and a driver, to cheauffeur you around on your next golf vacation?
Well, similar to its arrangement with Lexus automobiles in the United States, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has added complimentary, chauffeur service in BMWs (the X5 xDrive 35d) at its Canadian properties for guests enrolled in its President’s Club loyalty program.
With only one or two vehicles at each property, the service is available on a first-come, first served basis and you can’t make reservations, a situation Fairmont aims to mitigate by limiting rides to short distances.
Still, it’s a nice perk, and my collegues at Golf Odyssey recently wrote about their general affinity for Fairmont’s President’s Club, noting that it’s free to join and, even at the lowest tier, you get meaningful benefits such as a dedicated check-in desk, complimentary Internet access and local calls, access to the fitness center, and the use of Adidas workout clothes/sneakers.
Of course, the most relevant benefit of Fairmont’s President’s Club for those on golf vacations (or, more accurately, a vacation or business trip that includes a bit of golf) is the complimentary use of Taylor Made golf clubs (RH, LH, and women’s sets). This perk is mainly available at the company’s metropolitan hotels in North America and the clubs can be reserved seven days in advance of arrival.
In case this new addition to the President’s Club, um, drives you to take a Fairmont golf vacation (fairmont.com), here are the company’s properties in Canada that offer golf on site or nearby:
- The Fairmont Banff Springs
- Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu (Charlevoix)
- The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
- Fairmont Le Château Montebello
- The Fairmont Algonquin (St. Andrews by-the-Sea)
- The Fairmont Château Whistler
