In October 2005, Baum Media Group acquired The Golf Insider newsletter and merged it with Golf Odyssey.

Golf Vacation Insider, LLC publishes a free daily newsletter, a website and books on golf travel. Managing Editor and golf travel veteran Craig Better works closely with the editors of Golf Odyssey to provide free, concise insider travel tips to subscribers at least three times a week.

David Baum serves as Publisher & Editor-in-Chief of the Golf Odyssey and Golf Vacation Insider newsletters. He is a leading expert on golf travel and has played more than 50 courses in five countries in the last twelve months alone. In addition to authoring two golf travel books, Planning the Ultimate Golf Vacation and Planning the Ultimate Bandon Dunes Golf Vacation, he serves as the golf travel columnist for Dealmaker Magazine and has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The International Herald Tribune, USATODAY.com, Golf For Women, US Airways Magazine, Bloomberg News, Cigar Aficionado and other national publications.

A long-time subscriber to Golf Odyssey, Baum purchased the esteemed newsletter from its founder in 2005. He and his staff are dedicated to the publication of honest and unbiased evaluations of great golf destinations in the United States and abroad. Craig Better is the managing editor of Golf Vacation Insider and has been writing about golf and travel for the past 14 years. In addition to traveling to 15 foreign countries, he has twice traveled across America to play golf courses in all 50 United States. Prior to joining Golf Vacation Insider, Craig was a highly sought after freelance writer who contributed to GOLF Magazine, Travel + Leisure Golf, Maxim Magazine, USAToday.com, and co-authored Zagat Survey’s book, America’s Top Golf Courses.
